Don’t “dis” Me

If you’ve ever felt disappointed, you aren’t alone. Sometimes things happen that disappoint you; ruined vacation plans, friends that back out on plans; or maybe you didn’t lose enough weight to fit into that favorite dress. Life, like baseball is full of curve balls. We have to learn to take these things in stride and not them disrupt our lives. They are temporary setbacks, not life-changing moments.

I’ve had enough disappointments to know that if allowed to fester, they become bigger than they should. Figuring out how to use these situations to move yourself forward can be worth the effort if it doesn’t consume you. Being able to choose your battles shows maturity and growth.

So, the next time you get knocked down, stay there for a minute until the air clears and then get up, wipe the dust off and take a deep breath. Once you clear your head, you’ll find that you are better able to deal with the circumstances. Out of adversity comes change, growth and strength.
