Still Here

Have you ever had that warm feeling of a bygone memory? That has been happening to me a lot lately. There is no warning. It just happens.

One memory is waking up on a gorgeous Saturday morning in the summer when we lived in Sebec. Ken was up, had already made coffee and was watching T.V. I can recall everything just where it was in the bedroom as if I were there right now. The doors were open and the smell of fresh cut grass from the day before was wafting through the house. I don’t recall what we did that day but I know it must have been good.

Another memory was from a winter day. We had gotten a lot of heavy snow and the roads were treacherous so Ken drove me to work at the hospital. When he picked me up that night we took the back roads home, which he loved doing. The snow was half way up the tires on the truck but it was so beautiful on the low hanging branches. When we got home the house was warm and cozy and we were greeted by two excited dogs. I had the next day off so we stayed up late eating pizza and drinking hot chocolate.

I love these little reminders. They let me know that he is still with me. Thanks honey.
