Too Hard To Save

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been asked to do something that you didn’t want to do either because you would be embarrassed or thought it was a waste of time. My hands up and I’m not proud of it.

My Grandfather and Uncle were cut from the same cloth. They were both fishermen who lived hard lives. At times they had very colorful language and God and religion was the last thing they ever wanted to hear about let alone talk about. They put God down with every chance they got. Even at a young age I thought there was no hope for them.

Then just days to a week before they each passed away, and because of the willingness of certain family members, my Dad in one instance and my sister in the other, to step out of their comfort zones and take a chance at being rejected, both men were saved by the grace of God. To this day I have no doubt in my mind that they are both in heaven and that one day I will see them again.

So you see, even though I thought they were to hard to save, God had other plans. So I will continue to pray for those I love to follow the same path. It’s never too late until you’ve taken your last breath.

“The Spirit of God emboldens us to proclaim the gospel without fear.” 1Thessalonians 2:2
